A new year is on its way
So, how was your Christmas and how was the music? At Ely Cathedral we enjoyed the company of, literally, thousands of people across our Christmas events and services and, for each, we tried to ensure we had music of the highest standard offered in God's praise.
A new music training programme will be launched in April (to come into effect in September) but, meanwhile there are already quite a few events taking place. Keep an eye on the local RSCM website here , Ely Rag and this blog for details of "What's on".

RSCM Honorary Awards
The Royal School of Church Music has announced this year's recipients of their Honorary Awards. It is a great pleasure to see amongst the names of new Fellows that of our own Paul Trepte, Director of Music at Ely Cathedral. Paul has been a very faithful servant of church music in this area and manages to give his full support to local area events and the Ely RSCM Committee, as well as to the Cathedral.
The full list of Award winners (with citations) is published on the RSCM website here:
http://www.rscm.com/assets/info_resources/media/HonAwards2012.pdf
It also includes amongst it the name of James Bowman (also a new Fellow) - a former chorister at Ely Cathedral. So, overall, it's been a good year for us!
