The King's School Ely has recently announced a new set of choral scholarships for young men entering Sixth Form. They will get an excellent vocal training and the chance to sing with the Lay Clerks at the Cathedral as well as participate fully in the life of the school, at which they will study academically and live as boarders.
For anyone who might be considering a choral award to university, this could be the ideal training ground. This is a unique and exciting initiative on behalf of the school and, as such, is to be warmly commended.
If you know of any male singers in Year 11 (or, looking further ahead, Year 10) who might be interested, you may like to follow this link Additionally, I have a .pdf flyer available with rather more information for anyone who sends me an email requesting this to janmpayne@googlemail.com or, of course, get in touch direct with the school.
