A question of power

One of the newly Authorised Lay Music Ministers reports that this morning's service at her church turned out rather differently to the planned programme as the electricity supply was cut off, rendering the organ useless and probably quite a lot else besides. Undaunted, the music was hastily re-assembled to be led by a cellist and flautist and the choir sang an unaccompanied anthem and, presumably, gave a good lead to the hymns as well.

It highlights
our dependency on things like electricity to help us in worship. If you have a moment, consider how the music in your church could continue if you had no electricity, especially at short notice. Hopefully, you will never have to find out but some advanced planning for such eventualities cannot be anything other than sensible.
