Lenten Music Pilgrimage No 4

With three weeks of the Pilgrimage behind us, the Lenten Music Pilgrimage moved on tonight to my home parish of Impington. Ruth (who's been helping me throughout) and I were joined by Nicky and it was good to see her.

A real blessing that so many came and an equal blessing was the warmth of welcome we received. Janet and Rosemary had got everything set up and helped arrange the food in an appetising manner for all concerned. We have been so blessed by all our host churches these past weeks. God's Church is very much alive and the doors are open for business. The evening followed its usual shape and format - but, with different people there to previous weeks, it took on its own unique dynamic.

So, already, we are looking ahead to next week in Bar Hill and then the five weeks will have been completed. It's gone so fast......  If you haven't caught up with us yet, there's still time next week. 6.30 pm for supper and 7.15 pm for music.

Diamond Jubilee Choir - an opportunity for young singers

A unique opportunity has opened up for children aged 10-13 singing regularly in their school or church choirs to audition for places in a special choir that will sing in St Paul's Cathedral London for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 5 June this year. There is a website where you can find out more information if you have a young singer who'd be interested. It looks like our "local" auditions will be at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds - not too far to go if you're keen to try.  See the website here for details: http://www.diamondchoir.co.uk/

I imagine it would be a wonderful opportunity if you were to be selected to sing. The closing date is Friday 30 March, so you need to get on with it if you want to apply!
